Welcome to the Imperatore School of Sciences and Arts Problem Reporting System.

These pages will guide you quickly and easily through the Problem Report submission process, but before you submit a new Problem Report, please take the time to try the Full Text Search option from our Query page. Your problem may already be in our database!

To determine the nature of your problem, please choose one of the items below:

Apple Macintosh Computer Problems
Bug reports and problems with Apple Macintosh Computers, particularly the maclab in Humanities.
DNS
Unresolvable hosts, requests for IP address allocation, machine name changes, and other DNS changes.
Email
Problems relating to sending and/or receiving email messages, including questions about email clients such as Pine, Elm, MH, and EXMH.
Hardware Problems
For non-printer related hardware failures. For example, dead machines, burned out monitors, smoking disk drives, etc.
Hardware Request
Requests for new hardware.
HPCF
Problems related to the High Performance Computing Facilities.
Java
Problems with the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), the Java Development Kit (JDK), Jini and related technologies.
KDE
Problems related to the K Desktop Environment.
Licenses
Software license renewal or purchase. Non-functioning software due to licensing issues.
Network
Network issues which are not related to DNS requests/problems. Examples include lost connectivity, slow ping times, dropped packets, etc.
Printing
Hardware and software problems with printing documents. Issues such as garbled output, no output, queue jams and errors, etc.
Software Problems
For software issues with NetBSD and Linux not covered by any other category.
Software Requests
Request that new software be installed on any of our systems. This includes IRIX, NetBSD and Linux. Note: Windows software requests should be made in the Windows category. Apple software requests should be made in the Apple category.
TeX
Problems relating to TeX, LaTeX, and DVI files, including support of all packages currently installed.
Windows
Any and all Windows issues.
WWW
Issues related to our webserver (nimbus.cs.stevens.edu).
Miscellaneous
Anything that doesn't clearly fit into any of the other categories.
